Summary[]
A father has two children: a son and a daughter. Though his son sleeps soundly, his daughter is usually wracked with nightmares. On the worst nights, she will enter her parents' room and stand in the dark, staring at her father until he wakes up and allows her to climb into bed with them.
One night, the father wakes up to see a dark silhouette standing next to the bed. He suddenly realizes both his children are spending that night at their grandparents'. He turns on the light but sees no one there. However, down the hall, he spies the silhouette standing and staring into his daughter's room. He speculates it's waiting for her to come home.
