Summary[]

This story is narrated in third person. Nikolle Doolin serves as the narrator.

A currently-unchanged werewolf, Taggard, makes his way across the countryside at sunset. He attempts to find a shelter where he can restrain himself before the full moon comes out and he transforms. He briefly considers a small schoolhouse, only to find it locked. As he passes by, he sees two boys fighting in the yard.

Venturing into the woods, Taggard finds a hollow beneath a large tree, which he decides to use. He climbs inside and restrains himself with a pair of silver handcuffs and an ankle bar. Just as the sun disappears behind the horizon and his transformation begins, one of the boys from the yard, Leo, appears at the entrance.

Leo says that the other boy, Devon, was bullying him and asks for Taggard to walk him home. He tells the boy to go away. Leo stays for a few minutes, talking about how he's bullied constantly at school for his love of constellations. Now halfway through his transformation, Taggard tells him he seems like a nice kid and gives him the key to the handcuffs and bar, telling him if he comes back in the morning to unlock him, he'll buy him a present. Leo agrees and leaves.

Taggard has nearly completed his transformation into a werewolf when he hears the two boys arguing outside the hollow. Devon demands the silver key that Leo has. Leo walks up the hole, tells him that if he wants it, he can go get it, and throws it inside. Taggard tries to yell a warning but loses control of himself, fully transforming. He picks the key up and unlocks his restraints.

Devon climbs into the hollow to retrieve it, only to be caught in the werewolf's claws. As he rips him to shreds, Taggard hears Leo singing a song about constellations outside.
