Summary[]

Birdy works as a nun and nurse at a Christian hospital. Since she is a new hire, she is forced to take the night shift with an older worker named Sister Mary Rose. She works on the old-folks hospice floor of the building and enjoys it.

One night while alone in the office, Birdy sees a little girl in blue overalls walking down the hallway. She calls to her that she can't be in this section, but the girl ignores her. She gets up to confront her, only to find her gone when she checks. Shaken, she returns to the office and calls the night security, but there is no little girl missing from any floor.

Sister Mary Rose returns and sends Birdy to check on a high-risk patient, Mr. McCaffer. Arriving in his room, she changes his bedpan is about to leave when she hears several little girls whisper the word "soon". She runs back to the office and tells Sister Mary Rose, but she says that hallucinations are common in the hospital late at night.

A few hours pass. Sister Mary Rose leaves to get dinner while Birdy sets out on her rounds. All through the halls she thinks she hears running feet and giggling. In Mr. McCaffer's room she finds three little girls standing next to his bed, holding hands, all chanting the word "soon". Birdy halfheartedly tells them to leave, but they turn to her and smile instead, revealing skull-like faces. They begin chanting words Mr. McCaffer supposedly said to them. His heart monitor spikes before flatlining. She flees the room, screaming.

Birdy takes a few days off and has Sister Mary Rose cover for her. After researching, she learns that Mr. McCaffer was a child murderer that abducted and killed four girls. She is happy he didn't escape punishment for his crimes, even after death.
